1. Services
publishing.co.uk provides automated book formatting services for self-published authors. Our services include:
- Converting manuscripts into KDP-ready print interior PDFs
- Converting manuscripts into Kindle-compatible EPUB files
- Book cover formatting
- Related formatting tools and calculators
2. Orders and Payment
- Pricing: All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.
- Payment: Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards.
- Order confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation upon successful payment.
- Delivery: Formatted files are delivered electronically, typically within 24 hours of order placement.
3. Revisions
All formatting packages include unlimited free revisions. If you need changes to your formatted files, contact us at hello@publishing.co.uk and we will process the revision at no additional cost.
4. Refund Policy
- If our formatted files are rejected by Amazon KDP for formatting reasons and we are unable to resolve the issue, you are entitled to a full refund.
- Refund requests for other reasons will be considered on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of delivery.
- To request a refund, email hello@publishing.co.uk with your order details.
5. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have the legal right to publish the manuscript you submit
- Providing accurate information when placing an order
- Reviewing the formatted files before uploading to KDP or any other platform
- Ensuring your manuscript content complies with Amazon KDP's content guidelines
6. Intellectual Property
- Your content: You retain all intellectual property rights in your manuscript and content. We do not claim any ownership of your work.
- Our services: The formatting templates, tools, website design, and content on publishing.co.uk are our intellectual property and are protected by copyright.
- Licence: By submitting a manuscript, you grant us a limited, temporary licence to process and format your file solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order in question.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or revenue.
- We are not liable for any issues arising from the content of your manuscript, including copyright infringement or KDP content policy violations.
8. Disclaimer
Our formatting services are provided "as is". While we take every care to ensure files meet KDP specifications:
- We do not guarantee acceptance by Amazon KDP for reasons unrelated to formatting (e.g., content policy violations, cover issues).
- We are not responsible for any changes Amazon may make to their formatting requirements after delivery.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use our services for any unlawful purpose
- Submit content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from our website
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
