These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the publishing.co.uk website and the services operated by publishing.co.uk (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By placing an order or using our website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Services
publishing.co.uk provides done-for-you publishing services for self-published authors. Our services include:
- Book formatting — converting manuscripts into KDP-ready print interior PDFs and Kindle-compatible EPUB files, plus cover formatting and related add-ons (packages and prices)
- Launch service — taking a finished manuscript to a live Amazon listing, as described on the launch service page
- Author websites — a designed and built author website with ongoing hosting and care, governed additionally by the author website terms
- A+ Content design — designed Amazon A+ Content modules for your book listing (A+ Content)
- Courses — self-paced online courses, delivered at course.publishing.co.uk or through our checkout (courses)
- Free tools, audits, guides and calculators
Where a service page states a specific scope, turnaround, revision allowance or refund term, that page’s statement applies to that service and is incorporated into these Terms.
2. Orders and Payment
- Pricing: All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.
- Payment: Payments are processed securely by our checkout and payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. Some course purchases are completed through the course.publishing.co.uk checkout. We never store your full card details.
- Order confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation upon successful payment.
- Delivery: Formatted files are delivered electronically, typically within 24 hours of order placement. Picture books and complex illustrated non-fiction may take 48–72 hours. A rush turnaround under 12 hours is available as a paid add-on. Launch, A+ Content and website timescales are stated on the relevant service page.
3. Revisions
- Book formatting: every formatting package includes two free revision rounds. Most books need none. Additional revision rounds beyond the two included are £19 each, available after delivery.
- A+ Content and author websites: revision rounds are as stated on the relevant service page.
- To request a revision, reply to your delivery email or contact hello@publishing.co.uk with your order details.
4. Refund Policy
- Book formatting: if our formatted files are rejected by Amazon KDP for a formatting reason, we fix them free of charge (our KDP-approval guarantee). If we are unable to resolve the issue, you are entitled to a full refund.
- A+ Content design: if the finished modules are not useful to you, we refund in full, no questions asked.
- Author websites: you may cancel at any time with no notice period, and the build fee is refunded in full at any point before your site goes live. Full terms are in the author website terms.
- Courses: 30-day, no-questions-asked refund from the date of purchase.
- Launch service: refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. A split-payment option (50% on commission, 50% on delivery) is available for the full launch service, as described in our FAQ.
- Refund requests for any other reason will be considered on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of delivery.

5. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have the legal right to publish the manuscript you submit
- Providing accurate information when placing an order
- Reviewing the formatted files before uploading to KDP or any other platform
- Ensuring your manuscript content complies with Amazon KDP’s content guidelines
6. Intellectual Property
- Your content: You retain all intellectual property rights in your manuscript and content. We do not claim any ownership of your work.
- Our services: The formatting templates, tools, website design, course materials and content on publishing.co.uk are our intellectual property and are protected by copyright. Course access is personal to the purchaser and may not be shared or resold.
- Licence: By submitting a manuscript or other material, you grant us a limited, temporary licence to process it solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order in question.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or revenue.
- We are not liable for any issues arising from the content of your manuscript, including copyright infringement or KDP content policy violations.
8. Disclaimer
Our services are provided “as is”. While we take every care to ensure files meet KDP specifications:
- We do not guarantee acceptance by Amazon KDP for reasons unrelated to formatting (e.g., content policy violations, cover issues).
- We are not responsible for any changes Amazon may make to their formatting requirements after delivery.
- Sales, rankings, reviews, advertising results and AI-assistant recommendations depend on factors outside our control; nothing in our launch service, courses or A+ Content design is a guarantee of a commercial outcome.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use our services for any unlawful purpose
- Submit content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from our website
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
