Who else sees it

  • Lemon Squeezy — payments, invoicing and file delivery
  • Our email provider — to send your receipt and the download link
  • Our accountant and HMRC — for tax records
  • Anyone we are legally required to disclose to

Each is bound by a contract covering their handling of your data. Some may process data outside the UK; where they do, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records: six years after the end of the tax year they fall in. This is a tax requirement, not a choice.
  • Your email address for edition updates: 12 months from purchase, then deleted unless you have separately asked for our marketing emails.
  • Correspondence: two years from the last message.
  • Marketing consent: until you withdraw it, and we delete you on request.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting what we did before.

Email hello@publishing.co.uk. We reply within one month.

Note that we cannot erase the order records we are legally required to keep for tax purposes until that period ends — but we will restrict them to that purpose alone on request.

Complaining

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint · 0303 123 1113.

Automated decisions

We do not make any automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.
